Oman Dental College is the first and currently the only dental college in the Sultanate of Oman It admitted its first cohort of students in the academic year 2006/7. Oman Dental College is undergoing a period of intense growth as it approaches a steady state in 2012 when the first cohort is due to graduate with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).

It has always been ODC’s intention to play an active and informed role in achieving the long sighted vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, for both the Higher Educational and Healthcare sectors in Oman and to this end, ODC ‘s new state-of-the-art dental college and hospital benefits both citizens and residents. This consists of an outpatient dental clinical facility with multiple dental chairs, X-ray facilities, and laboratories, a Central Sterile Supply Department, an operating theatre and a research centre together with the requisite academic facilities in the College. These facilities are equipped to the highest standards using the latest technology currently available.

In addition to providing a dental training base in Oman, the dental clinical teaching hospital provides outpatient dental facilities that significantly increases the number of dental chairs and dentists available to the general public in the Sultanate, thereby improving patient access to quality dental healthcare at very affordable rates.
